Due to COVID-19, the Indiana statewide primary election has been moved to June 2. However, all voters may vote by mail.
Mail-in ballot request forms must be returned by May 21 and are available online here. Completed mail-in ballots must be received by county election officials by noon or close of polls (depending on county) on June 2.
Visit the Indiana Voters Portal to review the ballot, check your registration, and more.
Any IU School of Medicine student who is a U.S. citizen can register to vote in Indiana since they attend school here, although they can maintain their voter registration in their home state as an option instead. Students who have decided to register elsewhere can visit the nonpartisan Campus Vote Project to learn about their state’s election or visit the website of their local board of elections.
IU School of Medicine staff are happy to help students navigate their voting rights. If you have a question or want to learn more, email Niki Messmore, Program Director for Community & Civic Engagement, at nmmessmo@iupui.edu.
