The Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Dermatology cares for both common and rare diseases of skin, nails and hair. The department is nationally recognized as a leader in academic dermatology providing outstanding training for future dermatologists.

History

Education

The department combines strong clinical training and didactic teaching in general dermatology and subspecialty areas, including multidisciplinary melanoma, vascular lesion, cutaneous lymphoma, genitomucosal dermatoses, cosmetic dermatology, and transplant dermatology.

Research

Dermatology faculty at IU School of Medicine perform basic science research in areas such as atopic dermatitis and HPV, clinical research in a wide array of topics, as well as clinical trials evaluating the use of new and existing medications in dermatology.

The department’s faculty physicians provide skilled and attentive care to diagnose and treat a full range of dermatologic disorders and provide advanced cosmetic services.
