Known for its Rural Medical Education Program (RMEP), IU School of Medicine—Terre Haute meets the increased need for physicians to serve rural communities throughout the state of Indiana and beyond. Students and faculty at this campus benefit from an open and collaborative learning environment, and flexible teaching methods attempt to meet varying learning modalities.
With faculty engaged in ongoing research, the Terre Haute campus is paving the way for therapies in acute and chronic diseases, for the scientific assessment of alternative medicine, for interventions in community health and more. Basic scientists and community physicians guide medical students in the learning of foundational sciences through clinical clerkships and directed public health research as part of IU School of Medicine’s statewide medical education curriculum.
