In association with the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on Genetics, three department of pediatrics faculty at Indiana University School of Medicine have produced a clinical report updating recommendations for the care of children with Down syndrome. The report has been published online and will be published in the May 2022 edition of Pediatrics.
Marilyn Bull, MD, FAAP, Celanie Christensen, MD, MS, FAAP, and Randall Grout, MD, MS, FAAP, are among five lead authors in this report. This report is designed to assist pediatricians in the care of individuals with Down syndrome. Recommendations range from the prenatal visit to ages 21 and older. Due to increased care and quality of life for those with Down syndrome, life expectancy now averages at age 60.
