Bio
Dr. Daniel Rusyniak is the Secretary of the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA). Consisting of 8 divisions, FSSA provides health and human services to over 2 million Hoosiers. Among the work he is involved with, include programs aimed at allowing aging adults on Medicaid to stay in a home and community setting, building out a statewide mental health crisis system, and increasing the access and affordability of child care. He is also a Professor of Emergency Medicine at the IU School of Medicine. Prior to his role at FSSA, Dr. Rusyniak was the Medical Director of the Indiana Poison Control Center and the IU Division Chief for Medical Toxicology. He has had sustained research career with multiple NIH grants. His work has focused on the prevention of complications related to drug overdose and misuse. He has authored over 80 articles, 13 textbook chapters, and edited 4 books.
