Bio

A 1996 graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago-College of Medicine, he completed his combined Methodist-IU School of Medicine residency in Emergency Medicine-Pediatrics in 2001. During his final year he served as the first Emergency Medicine-Pediatrics Chief Resident. He's board certified in both Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics.

He has been a member of FEMA - Indiana's Urban Search and Rescue Team INTF-1 ((FEMA US&R) since 1998 and responded to several events including the World Trade Center disaster and Hurricane Katrina as the Medical Team Manager. He a clinician and teaching faculty based at various sites in the IU Department of Emergency Medicine.

In July 2008 he became the Associate Medical Director of the Emergency Medicine and Trauma Center at Methodist Hospital and subsequently was appointed Medical Director in 2015.  Concurrently he became the Service Line Leader of Indiana University Health Physicians Emergency Medicine.  In 2017 he was appointed Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs for the Department of Emergency Medicine.

In 2019 he became the IU Department of Emergency Medicine East Central Regional Medical Director and also served as the Ball Memorial Hospital Emergency Department Medical Director. Finally, in 2020 he became the Executive Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs for the IU Dept of Emergency Medicine to oversee operations at 10 statewide IU Dept of Emergency Medicine hospital Emergency Departments.

He was awaded the IU Health Physicians, John Fitzgerald, MD Leadership Award in 2020. Additionally in  2020 he was awarded the Evans Fellowship in Health Care Leadership and completed his Business of Medicine Physician MBA program from the IU Kelley School of Business.
