Bio

Dr. Corvera graduated magna cum laude from Duke University (1991) with degrees in Economics and Mathematics. After a brief career in investment banking, he completed postbaccalaureate premedical studies at Columbia University (1993). He earned his MD from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine (1998), where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. His surgical training includes a general surgery residency, cardiothoracic surgery research fellowship, and clinical cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine (1998-2008), followed by subspecialty training in aortic and endovascular surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine (2009).

Dr. Corvera joined Indiana University Health in 2009 as a cardiovascular surgeon and became faculty at Indiana University School of Medicine in 2015. He currently serves as Director of Thoracic Vascular and Aortic Surgery, Surgical Director of Structural Heart Therapies, Director of Cardiothoracic Surgery Simulation, and Co-Director of the IU Health Aortic Center.
