Jessica completed her B.A in Microbiology at Miami University, graduating with honors. She received her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati before completing her residency in pediatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. After completing a chief resident year, Dr. Kanis went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
Dr. Kanis is faculty in the emergency department at Riley Hospital for Children and is currently chair of the pain and sedation committee. Her research interests include pain control for children and quality improvement.
