Bio
Dr. Saleem currently serves as the Surgical Director of Heart Transplant and MCS and the Surgical Director of ECMO. His clinical focus is in cardiac surgery and includes all aspects of adult cardiac surgery, heart transplant, mechanical support, ECMO and lung transplant. Dr. Saleem received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tenn.
Prior to joining Indiana University, Dr. Saleem completed his general surgery training at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tenn. He then completed his cardiothoracic surgery training at Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana, and an additional year of training in advanced heart failure, MCS and lung transplant at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dr. Saleem is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation and the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization.
