Bio
I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and went to college at Rice University in Houston. I majored in physics but realized I didn’t understand enough about it to pursue it as a career, so I switched to physiology and got my PhD at IU Bloomington. After a three-year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Colorado Medical Center, I returned to IUB and have been on the faculty here since 1979. My wife and I have been married 52 years and have two daughters, the oldest now eligible to join AARP.
