Bio

Dr. Lauren D. Nephew is Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and the Assistant Vice Chair of Health Equity at Indiana University School of Medicine. Her research interest includeunderstanding how the social and structural determinants of health contribute to disparities in chronic liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma outcomes and developing interventions that move patients closer to health equity. She completed residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and Gastroenterology and Liver Transplantation Fellowships at the University of Pennsylvania. While at Case Western Reserve University for medical school, Dr. Nephew completed a Master’s program in Bioethics. While at the University of Pennsylvania, she completed a Master’s of Science in Clinical Epidemiology. She is a health equity champion, wife, and mother of two.
