Bio
Dr. Heather Huelster is an Assistant Professor of Urology specializing in urologic cancer surgery. She is a graduate of Hanover College and received her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Huelster completed her general surgery internship and urologic surgery training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center followed by a fellowship in Urologic Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL.
Dr. Huelster specializes in the surgical management of kidney, bladder, prostate, and penile cancer with research interests focused on urothelial carcinoma, integration of circulating tumor DNA and other biomarkers into cancer detection and surveillance, and the financial and social costs of cancer care. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presents regularly at national meetings, including the American Urological Association and Society of Urologic Oncology.
At Indiana University Health and Indiana University School of Medicine, Dr. Huelster is actively involved in multidisciplinary cancer care, resident education, and mentorship. Outside of medicine, Dr. Huelster values time with her family and enjoys the outdoors and exploring new culinary and travel experiences.
