Bio
Dr. Ramzy Burns is an Assistant Professor of Urology at Indiana University School of Medicine specializing in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery. Originally from Pennsylvania, she earned her undergraduate degree from Muhlenberg College and her medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University. She completed her urology residency and fellowship training in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at Indiana University before joining the faculty in 2025.
Dr. Burns provides comprehensive care for women with pelvic floor disorders, including pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, voiding dysfunction, recurrent urinary tract infections, urethral disorders, and female sexual health concerns. She has expertise in both robotic reconstructive surgery as well as nonsurgical management of complex pelvic floor conditions. She also has a special interest in hormonal health and the management of genitourinary syndrome of menopause, helping women navigate the effects of hormonal changes on bladder, vaginal, and sexual health.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Burns is actively involved in resident and fellow education and serves as a research mentor for trainees across multiple disciplines. Her research interests focus on female pelvic floor disorders, female sexual health, reconstructive urology, and improving patient-centered outcomes through clinical research. She has presented her work nationally and received recognition for her contributions to urologic research and education.
