Bio
Jamal Mohamud, D.O. is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Indiana University School of Medicine, where he serves as a faculty member in the Division of Neuro-Oncology. Dr. Mohamud earned his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, followed by a neurology residency training at Indiana University. He subsequently completed subspecialty fellowship training in Neuro-Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, one of the nation's premier cancer institutions, where he distinguished himself by serving as Chief Fellow during his final year.
Dr. Mohamud joined the Indiana University School of Medicine faculty in summer 2025, bringing specialized expertise in neuro-oncological care to the region. His clinical practice focuses on the comprehensive management of patients with complex neuro-oncological conditions, including primary central nervous system malignancies, brain metastases from systemic cancers, and neurologic complications arising from cancer therapeutics and immunotherapies.
Dr. Mohamud clinical resarch is focused on advancing treatment options for central nervous system malignancies. His interests include the development of innovative clinical trials for novel CNS therapies and investigating the role of neurofibromatosis in cancer evolution. He is committed to translating research findings into improved patient care and outcomes.
When not engaged in clinical or research activities, Dr. Mohamud values time spent with family and enjoys exploring the cultural and recreational opportunities throughout Indiana.
