Bio

Dr. Tsai-Yu Lin received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Washington. He subsequently worked as a postdoctoral scientist at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). Prior to his IU School of Medicine (IUSM) employment, Dr. Lin had many years of experience as a senior researcher in the biotech industry, applying lentiviral vectors to gene delivery in the fields of gene therapy and immuno-oncology (e.g., CAR-T). Through his training and work experience, Dr. Lin has equipped himself with expertise in many aspects of medical virology (e.g., HIV, West Nile virus, dengue virus, alphaviruses, and hepatitis B virus), lentiviral vector technology, immuno-oncology, and gene therapy. As Associate Director of the Gene Therapy Testing Laboratory at IUSM, Dr. Lin focuses on molecular testing and analysis of gene and cell therapy product safety.
