Bio

Dr. Gawrieh is a board-certified hepatologist. He has received NIH funding to study metabolic-dysfunction and alcohol-associated liver diseases. His clinical and translational research investigates the genetic and environmental factors affecting these conditions as well as their diagnostics and therapeutics. Dr. Gawrieh currently serves as the Clinical Director of the Data Coordinating Center for the NIH-sponsored Alcohol-associated Hepatitis Network, a national network of leading academic centers in the US that studies different aspects and therapeutics of alcohol-associated hepatitis. Dr. Gawrieh is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Transplant Hepatology.
