Bio
I am a native of Oklahoma and relocated to Indianapolis in 2021 to serve as the Division Director for Gynecology Oncology at Indiana University School of Medicine. I am a physician-scientist with a clinical and research focus on improving outcomes among people with gynecologic malignancies using novel therapeutic agents through clinical trials. I am board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Gynecology Oncology and Hospice/Palliative Medicine. Above all, I consider myself an educator and mentor. I enjoy working alongside students, residents and faculty to provide the best care today and in the future.

I have a broad research experience that began with my doctoral dissertation work in neurophysiology in basic science studying the mechanisms for autonomic dysreflexia following spinal cord injury. After I pivoted to a career in medicine, my research experience during fellowship training in gynecology oncology centered on the evaluation and management of vulvar cancer, advanced endometrial cancer, and intraperitoneal chemotherapy for women with advanced ovarian cancer. As a faculty member, I have continued to actively participate in research both as a principal investigator and a research mentor to medical students, residents, and fellows. These projects have included clinical trials in cancer, quality of life studies, and educational research. At present, I serve primarily as the institutional PI for gynecology oncology at IU Simon Cancer Center and lead our effort to bring new clinical trials to patients in the state of Indiana.
