Bio
I am an Assistant Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics at the Indiana University School of Medicine and a research investigator with the Regenstrief Institute’s Center for Aging Research. I joined the IU faculty in Fall 2022 after completing a postdoctoral fellowship in population neuroscience of aging and Alzheimer’s disease at the University of Pittsburgh.
As a gerontologist, my research centers on understanding how aging intersects with physical, cognitive, and psychological health, especially among those experiencing elevated stress and health disparities. My work aims to identify modifiable risk and resilience factors that shape aging trajectories and to translate these insights into sustainable, community-informed behavioral interventions.
Currently, my emerging, NIH-funded research program focuses on co-designing multilevel stress management interventions for Black adults with elevated blood pressure, using user-centered design and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM). I am especially interested in how social networks, psychological health, and sleep contribute to cardiovascular outcomes and overall well-being in midlife and older adulthood.
