Bio

Dr. Yuce currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Surgery. Dr. Yuce received his medical degree from Temple University.

Prior to joining Indiana University, Dr. Yuce completed his surgical residency at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University and his surgical fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at Ohio State University. Dr. Yuce also obtained his Masters in Health Services and Outcomes Research at Northwestern University.

His clinical focus is minimally invasive surgery and includes surgical management of bariatrics, hiatal hernias, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and abdominal wall hernias.

Dr. Yuce’s research focus is in bariatric surgery, with a particular interest in issues surrounding access to care. He completed his research fellowship in Chicago at the Surgical Outcomes and Quality Improvement Center and has co-authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Yuce is a member of multiple surgical societies, including American College of Surgeons, American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), Association of Academic Surgery (AAS), and Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract (SSAT). He currently serves on the SAGES Advocacy & Health Policy as well as Quality, Outcomes, and Safety committees.
