Bio

Dr. Qiuting Wen (pronounced chiu-ting) obtained her Ph.D. from the UCSF-UC Berkeley Joint Ph.D. Program in Bioengineering, where she developed a keen interest in MRI techniques and their translational applications. After completing her Ph.D., she joined Indiana University, focusing on advanced diffusion MRI. Dr. Wen developed dynamic Diffusion-Weighted Imaging (dynDWI) for measuring paravascular cerebrospinal fluid (pCSF) dynamics, a key element in the brain's waste clearance system (the glymphatic system).

Her research focuses on how dysfunctional CSF dynamics contribute to aging, Alzheimer's disease, and CSF disorders like normal pressure hydrocephalus. Dr. Wen’s lab integrates multiple imaging modalities, including dynDWI, fMRI, and phase-contrast imaging, to study CSF-hemodynamic coupling and its physiological drivers.
