Bio

Bilal Tahir, MD, is Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology & Imaging Sciences at Indiana University School of Medicine, and serves as the Chief of Radiology at Eskenazi Health, the nation’s 4th largest safety net health system. A member of the Abdominal Radiology Section at Indiana University Health and Eskenazi Health, his areas of expertise include CT/US guided body interventions, Fluoroscopic examinations, and Gastrointestinal/Genitourinary CT, MRI and US imaging. Prior to joining the faculty at Indiana University School of Medicine in 2009, Dr. Tahir graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BS in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. He obtained his medical doctorate at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and completed radiology residency and fellowship training from Indiana University School of Medicine, Department of Radiology & Imaging Sciences. Dr. Tahir has co-authored over a hundred abstracts and articles. Recognized as a top educator, he has delivered hundreds of lectures and presentations to medical professionals locally, nationally, and internationally. His expertise is highly sought after as he continues to serve on various educational and professional committees locally and nationally, such as the American Roentgen Ray Society Scientific Program Subcommittee since 2014. A former president of the Indiana Radiological Society, Indiana’s chapter of the American College of Radiology (ACR), he has served as Councilor to the national ACR Council eight times.
