Dr. Elkafrawy is currently an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Indiana University. He obtained his medical degree from the Cairo University School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a transplant hepatology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio. He also completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. His clinical expertise focuses on pre and post-liver transplant care, liver diseases including cirrhosis, portal hypertension, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease, autoimmune liver diseases, alcohol-related liver diseases, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and gastrointestinal endoscopy.
