Bio
Tamara Haque, PhD, received her PhD in Immunology from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in 2019. She completed postdoctoral training in the Food Allergy Research Laboratory at the National Institutes of Health before joining the IU School of Medicine in 2025 as an assistant professor of pediatrics.
The Haque lab is part of the Pulmonary Inflammation, Asthma and Allergic Diseases research program at the Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research. The team is interested in studying the signaling pathways that regulate IgE production and responses, particularly in food allergy and asthma. They investigate these pathways using mouse models, human cells as well as humanized mice. The overall goal is to develop a translational research program with clinical collaboration. The Haque lab is also interested in understanding the fundamentals of immune cell signaling and cell biology by studying T cells, mast cells and other innate immune cells in vivo and in vitro.
In her free time, Haque enjoys hiking, exploring nature, weight lifting, dining out and fostering kittens.
