Bio

Vashisht Madabhushi, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Vascular Surgery. He earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, followed by a General Surgery residency at the University of Kentucky. He then completed a fellowship in Vascular Surgery at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. 

Madabhushi’s clinical focus is on delivering compassionate, patient-centered care for individuals with vascular disease. His expertise includes the diagnosis and treatment of peripheral arterial disease, carotid artery disease, aortic pathologies, venous disease and the creation and management of hemodialysis access. He is trained in both open and endovascular techniques and is committed to developing personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs. A strong advocate for patient education, Madabhushi believes that informed patients are empowered to actively participate in their care and achieve the best possible outcomes. 

Madabhushi’s research focuses on improving access to care and health outcomes in vulnerable patient populations, with an emphasis on addressing healthcare disparities. He has authored more than 15 peer-reviewed publications. His work aims to inform clinical practice and healthcare policy, ensuring that underserved communities receive equitable and effective vascular care. He also enjoys mentoring trainees to foster the next generation of surgeon-researchers committed to health equity.
