Bio

Daniel T. Hoover, MD, specializes in child and adolescent psychiatry and serves as a psychiatrist in the new Riley Children's Health Pediatric Medical-Behavioral Health Unit, drawing on his combined training in pediatrics and psychiatry to care for children and adolescents with complex medical and behavioral health needs. As the program expands, he will also contribute to the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry services.
 
Dr. Hoover’s clinical interests include the intersection of pediatric medicine and mental health, with experience addressing ADHD, depression, childhood trauma, new-onset psychosis, and other psychiatric concerns in pediatric settings. His academic interests include medical education, quality improvement, and advocacy for children and families, and his work has included initiatives to improve depression and anxiety screening, psychosis care, and safety screening in pediatric patients.
 
He earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He completed the Triple Board Residency (Pediatrics/Psychiatry/Child and Adolescent Psychiatry), where he served as Administrative Chief for the program, and the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.
