Bio

Dr. Fulkerson is a native of Western Kentucky and grew up in a small town.  After high school, he attended college at the University of Kentucky where he pursued degrees in chemistry and biology.  After college, he enrolled in medical school at the University of Kentucky in the MD-PhD program.  His graduate work largely centered around lysophosphatidic acid metabolism and platelet signaling.

After completing his PhD and MD, Dr. Fulkerson moved to Indianapolis with his wife and did residency training in internal medicine and subsequent fellowship training in pulmonary and critical care.

Dr. Fulkerson sepcializes in pulmonary hypertension and exercise physiology.  He has published on the manifestations of metabolic myopathies on exercise testing.  He has spoken nationally about exercise testing in the general pulmonary patient and patients with pulmonary hypertension.
