About Melody
Melody Braun is the Director of Operations and Systems in Faculty Affairs and Professional Development. Melody has been on campus since 2002 in varying administrative roles at both the School of Medicine and IU Health. She has been with FAPD since 2012. Melody has a Bachelor’s of Arts degree with a minor in Organizational Communication from Indiana University. She also holds a certificate in Event Management and Human Resources Management. She is Certified Scrum Product Owner and has a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from Purdue. Melody is responsible for managing, coordinating, and advising on all faculty affairs systems, functions, and transactions; including appointments and hiring, reappointments, promotion and tenure, leaves, eDocs (HRMS), terminations, etc. She provides interpretation, guidance and training to faculty and staff on academic, administrative, and school related policies, procedures, and precedents. She serves as the liaison between the University and campus Faculty Affairs office, the School of Medicine Departments/Units, and the Dean’s office to clarify needs and requirements.
