Why I chose Family Medicine: I chose Family Medicine because I enjoy making lasting patient relationships and working with patients to prevent and manage chronic conditions. I also look forward to the variety in my day to day schedule I can achieve by practicing general medicine.

Why I chose the IU School of Medicine Family Medicine Residency Program at Memorial: I chose this program because everyone was so friendly and welcoming during my interview and visit. There are also many opportunities to pursue my personal interests and gain hands-on experiences. I am also from a rural town in southern Indiana, and wanted to stay close to home and in a rural community.

Personal interest and hobbies: In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Arlen, and my dog, Max. We like to spend time outdoors, hiking, birdwatching and playing sports. We also enjoy traveling, visiting family, and playing games of all kinds.
