Resident Appointee
Bio
Why I chose Family Medicine: When someone says “that’s MY doctor,” I first picture a Family Medicine physician. Being a patient’s FM doctor means that we are the “go-to” person for any health related concerns. I believe it is a great privilege to be that primary health-care provider and advocate, often for a whole family unit. As a FM physician, I can offer continuity of care, build deeper relationships with patients, treat a large spectrum of patients, and help repair health disparities in communities in need.
Why I chose the IU Family Medicine Residency Program: I chose this program because they offer full-spectrum training, a variety of subspecialty tracks, and the ability to work with a large and diverse patient population. Beyond the academic opportunities, they offer a supportive and community-centric learning environment which I believe will aid greatly in my development as a physician. Having grown up in Indy, I also love the opportunity to serve a city and community that means so much to my family and I.
Interests and hobbies: I enjoy staying active by playing tennis and pick-up basketball. I unwind by being a huge consumer of movies and tv shows (and videogames from time to time). However, what I most cherish is spending time with my family and friends.
Languages I speak fluently: English and Hakha-Chin (Burmese)
