Bio
Why I chose Family Medicine:
I chose Family Medicine because its core values align with my professional goals, the area in medicine where you get to practice comprehensive, life-long, patient-centered care. As a Hispanic woman in medicine, I want to be part of the workforce that seeks to provide outstanding care to underserved populations. Efforts that are greatly met, by the role of the family physician in focusing on patient education, the psychosocial aspects of care, and adopting a community-based approach, all which resonates deeply with me.
Why I chose the IU Family Medicine Residency Program:
When looking for the right residency program, it was important to me to find a well-rounded one, that would provide me with an outstanding education, the opportunity to work with diverse populations and one with a robust community outreach component, as well as a positive and supportive work environment. I chose IU because not only did it surpass my every expectation, but I also felt welcomed and genuinely valued since interview day, the faculty, staff and residents go the extra mile to create such a wonderful atmosphere.
