Bio
Why I chose Family Medicine: I chose family medicine because it offers the chance to form long-term connections with patients of all ages, while at the same time taking an individualized approach to managing their chronic conditions and seeing their longitudinal improvement. I am also passionate about preventive care and educating patients on how factors such as diet, exercise, substance use, and preventive screenings impact health. Family medicine will also provide me with tremendous variety in my career and allow me to constantly apply my knowledge to unique cases and procedures. In addition, I aspire to help address the primary care shortage that Indiana faces to ensure that more individuals have access to care.
Why I chose the IU Family Medicine Residency Program: I chose IU because of its strong university-affiliated training. I was excited by the ability to pursue subspecialty educational tracks, such as in opioid use disorders and geriatrics, and by the dual-degree possibilities. I was also drawn to the opportunities to work with medical students. I greatly enjoyed attending medical school in Indianapolis and am excited to remain here for my residency training. I look forward to treating the diverse patient population and learning from the wide variety of patient cases and pathologies.
Interests and hobbies: I enjoy hiking, urban exploration, trying new restaurants, visiting the lake, browsing Reddit, and mentoring my younger siblings.
Languages I speak fluently: English
