On December 17, 2021, IU School of Medicine—Evansville announced $34.2 million gift from Evansville natives William C. and Mary R. (O’Daniel) Stone to establish the Mary O’Daniel Stone and Bill Stone Center for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

The center brings together clinical care, education, research, and data to improve access to behavioral health services, strengthen the behavioral health workforce, and advance better outcomes for children, adolescents, and families.

This gift, one of the largest in IU School of Medicine history, follows the 2018 gift of $15 million the Stones made toward a multi-institutional health sciences collaboration between the University of Evansville, University of Southern Indiana and Indiana University.
