Bio

Dr. Sigua is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep and Occupational Medicine.  She earned her medical degree from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine then moved to the United States to pursue further training.  She completed her Internal Medicine Residency and Chief Residency from Rush University in Chicago, Illinois.  She then did her Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship which she started at Loyola University in Maywood, Illinois then completed at Indiana University.  With her interest and passion for sleep medicine, she pursued a second fellowship in Sleep Medicine.  She has been a faculty at Indiana University since 2010. 

Dr. Sigua is board certified in pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine.  She is currently a Staff Physician at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center (VAMC) and her primary area of clinical interest is the care of individuals with sleep disorders.  She helped developed the IU Health hypoglossal nerve stimulator clinical program in 2016 and spearheaded the Roudebush VAMC transvenous phrenic nerve stimulator clinical program in 2020.  Both were the first programs in the state of Indiana to offer  advance neuromodulation therapies for patients who struggle with sleep apnea.
