The IU School of Medicine Indianapolis campus is located just a mile and a half from the center of downtown Indianapolis, ranked nationally for its livability and 8th by Forbes for best places in the nation for business and careers, with recognition for major health care industry contributions. Students form close bonds with peers and faculty. Outside of class, students benefit from the continued growth and development of the Indianapolis community.
Most of the medical education courses at the Indianapolis campus are held in the Van Nuys Medical Science Building.
Extracurricular Activities

Recreation activities, including athletics, student mentoring, civic engagement and hobbies, help students relieve stress and return refreshed to academic work. Students can volunteer at numerous organizations while studying at IU School of Medicine in Indianapolis. The campus offers a variety of student-focused participation opportunities as well, including Medical Student Council, Student Interest Groups and Committees — organizations that are also open to students across the state.
