A medical imaging research conference to highlight interventional magnetic resonance imaging
The Medical Imaging Research Institute (MIRI) at IU School of Medicine will host a one-day conference, the inaugural MIRI Biennial, on Friday, Nov. 6. This year’s Biennial will have a thematic focus on interventional magnetic resonance imaging (iMRI). Our goals are to share the latest research and developments in MRI-guided interventions and to showcase the translations that are starting to empower novel interventional procedures in the clinical setting.
The conference is geared toward interventional medicine professionals who are interested in MR-guided therapies, including radiologists and interventional specialists in neurology, cardiovascular medicine and oncology, as well as biomedical engineers, imaging technology specialists and industry professionals involved in developing and using interventional tools. Trainees are also welcome.
Orlando Simonetti, PhD, professor of radiology and internal medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, will present a keynote address in the technology session and David Woodrum, MD, PhD, interventional radiologist at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, will present a keynote address in the clinical session. A live interventional demonstration is also planned to show how the latest interventional tools are used.
The conference is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at Joseph E. Walther Hall, Suite C203, 980 W. Walnut St., in Indianapolis, IN.
Registration is open until Oct. 21.
