The Office of Gift Development recommends the following language for obituaries:
The family of [Name of Deceased] requests donations be made to Indiana University School of Medicine to support [area of choosing]. Make memorial gifts payable to “IU Foundation” and mail to IU Foundation, P.O. Box 7072, Indianapolis, IN 46207-7072. Please indicate “In memory of [Name of Deceased]” on the gift.
Notification
Donors should notify the Office of Gift Development if memorial gifts are being directed to IU School of Medicine so the team can:
- Send customized memorial gift cards and envelopes for services
- Provide regular reports listing those who made gifts in a loved one’s memory
- Thank all donors
