The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology offers four fellowship training programs for subspecialty training: Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship, Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship, Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Fellowship, and Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery Fellowship.

Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship
The Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship program at Indiana University School of Medicine is a three-year program that covers the full spectrum of gynecologic oncology training — including comprehensive surgical management of and chemotherapy for gynecological cancers. Fellows will also participate in a research year during the second year of fellowship.

Maternal-Fetal Medicine
The Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship training program prepares perinatologists to independently care for pregnant women with multiple medical and obstetrical problems. Participants acquire the skills to be an experienced educator for learners from all walks of life and develop a commitment to lifelong learning.

Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery
The fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at IU School of Medicine is a two-year, comprehensive, multidisciplinary program. Surgical caseload ranges from office-based hysteroscopy to advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery.

Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery
The Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery Fellowship trains physicians to provide consultative services and comprehensive management, including preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for women with pelvic floor disorders.
Research Fellowships
The Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology also has a research fellowship aimed at providing postdoctoral research and education opportunities as part of the PREGMED program.
Application Requirements
Please use the ERAS platform to apply for one of the four fellowships offered by the IU School of Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Applicants must submit a curriculum vitae as well as four letters of recommendation. These letters should be from the applicant’s residency program director, chair of the OB-GYN department and a mentor who can attest to the applicant’s interest in the area of subspecialty research.
Other required documentation includes medical school transcript, MSPE, personal statement that explains interest in subspecialty area of training, USMLE transcript (or COMLEX if DO) and CREOG scores (years 1-3).
