The Office for Research Imaging (ORI) provides centralized expertise to support biomedical imaging in research and clinical trials across Indiana University School of Medicine and Indiana University Health. ORI integrates operational, regulatory, technical, and clinical research support to ensure imaging studies are designed, executed, and managed efficiently and compliantly. ORI includes an operations team and clinical team to facilitate its work.
The ORI Operations Team supports all imaging-based research studies across Indiana University and IU Health. This team provides comprehensive services including imaging budgets and pricing, CPT coding, regulatory and informed consent support, protocol development, feasibility review, study startup and site qualification, dosimetry calculations, research scheduling and logistics, image anonymization and uploads, research PACS support, billing, query resolution, coordination of physics and engineering resources, and standardized image analysis such as RECIST and RANO measurements.
The Clinical Research Team provides dedicated nursing and study coordination support for radiology department principal investigators. This team manages all aspects of clinical trial conduct with radiology PIs, supporting participant safety, protocol adherence and high-quality trial execution throughout the study lifecycle.
