Events at the Indiana Center for Musculoskeletal Health

The ICMH is pleased to host Andriy Yabluchanskiy, MD, PhD, associate professor in the Department of Neurosurgery and adjunct professor in the Department of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Oklahoma, for his seminar titled Cerebrovascular mechanisms of cognitive decline in aging and age-related diseases.

Monthly meetings where the Trauma, Regeneration, and Rehabilitation research team present updates on their research focusing on developing patient-specific interventions.

The Metabolic Bone Disease research team, formally known as the MMAP team will meet every third Wednesday. Topics range from CKD mineral bone disorder (CKD-MBD), to clinical work on HRqCT, to aging and GLP-1 use. The group has been ongoing for a number of years focused on CKD-but welcomes newcomers! The format is one lab presents for 30-40 minutes and then open discussion about collaborations and techniques.

The cancer research team studies sarcomas, cancer-bone interactions in the metastatic niche, and the effects of cancer and its therapies on the musculoskeletal system.

Biweekly meetings where students and postdocs present and critically evaluate recent publications, fostering discussion and improving analytical skills.

The Lifestyle Modification Team’s research focuses on exercise, nutritional, and behavioral modifications that impact musculoskeletal health, physical function, and mobility. The goals of this research is to better understand how musculoskeletal health and physical function affect the overall health of the population and how chronic diseases impact musculoskeletal health.
