Dr. Masayuki Tsukasaki, DDS, PhD, Professor and Chair of the Department of Biochemistry, Showa University School of Dentistry in Japan, will be visiting the ICMH and will give a talk titled: “New insights into skeletal pathologies”.

Dr. Tsukasaki was trained in the laboratory of Hiroshi Takayanagi at the University of Tokyo and started his independent laboratory in October 2024. He has discovered a variety of new insights into the pathogenesis of skeletal diseases, e.g., cancer invasion into the bone and alveolar bone destruction in periodontitis, by focusing on the impact of the periosteum and the RANKL/RANK/OPG system (Nature 2024, Nature Com 2022, Nature Com 2018). Dr. Tsukasaki is a rising star in the osteoimmunology field.
