Frequently Asked Questions

There are a limited number of visiting elective positions available each academic year. The IU School of Medicine accepts visiting elective applications on a rolling basis. Please reach out to the department contact for information about the status of your visiting rotation application (see the list above). Note that the Pathway to Indiana program does not control who is accepted for a visiting rotation. This is determined by the department.

If the program you are interested in is not listed, then it does not host students for away rotations. However, if we have the program you are interested in at IU School of Medicine, please still consider applying for residency. View a full list of residency programs.

The decision regarding funding through the Pathway to Indiana Program is made on a rolling basis. You will receive an email updating you regarding receipt or non-receipt of funds at the earliest opportunity after your application has been considered.
