Each year, over 400 residents and fellows choose to continue their medical education in one of Indiana University's graduate medical education (GME) training programs.
IU School of Medicine sponsors 32 ACGME-accredited residencies and over 130 fellowship programs, including 64 ACGME-accredited programs and 68 non-ACGME programs.
Residents and fellows are integrated into every part of the clinical experience and gain world-class training. Our Residents as Teachers program empowers trainees to lead on clinical teams, taking an active role in providing excellent patient care. Residents and fellows have opportunities to engage in clinical and translational research in every GME program.
As Indiana University employees, residents and fellows enjoy robust and comprehensive benefits. Additionally, the Department of Mental Health Services provides mental health and personal counseling services to all residents and fellows.
Residents and fellows play an active role in shaping their clinical learning environment, including as representatives on the House Staff Forum, Multicultural Physicians' Alliance, and Resident Patient Safety and Quality Council.
If offered an interview, applicants will receive a copy of the conditions of employment as a GME trainee at IU School of Medicine, a sample Letter of Appointment for review, and a consent form for the virtual interview process.
