Global Health Training Pathway

The Global Health Residency Training Pathway at Indiana University School of Medicine offers a unique resident experience for those with aspirations to better understand the social, economic, cultural and environmental factors that contribute to health and disease throughout the world. Residents are required to complete an international field elective, attend quarterly global health conferences and regularly meet with their global health mentor.

One of our former residents, Amy Le, completed the Global Health Track. She speaks about the program in the story below. Many residents choose to participate in the Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare (AMPATH) program. IU School of Medicine started AMPATH as an international partnership with Moi University in Eldoret, Kenya.

The Clinician-Educator Training Pathway is a two year residency track training the next generation of clinician educators. The program provides not only the skills and knowledge but also a stimulating environment of like minded individuals to succeed as clinician educator.

The Health Impact Training Pathway uses a health systems science lens to educate and empower trainees to discuss, identify, act upon and teach about healthy outcomes that differ across groups in their everyday practice of medicine.

Knowledge and skills gained through the Leadership Training Pathway will be useful to future leaders in academic medicine and hospital administration.
