Director of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program
The primary responsibilities of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program (DMS) Director in the Radiologic and Imaging Sciences Programs of the Indiana University School of Medicine, Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences are teaching and service. Teaching involves classroom, laboratory or clinical courses at the undergraduate level. Service is rendered through administrative and committee responsibilities at the Program, School and University levels and through community and professional activities. Faculty pursue personal development through continuing education, work toward advanced degrees and patient interaction that will maintain and improve skills. Specific faculty responsibilities are assigned by the Director of the Radiologic and Imaging Sciences Programs (RISP) and include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Teaching in those areas to which the faculty member is most suited by education and experience.
- Counseling of professional and pre-professional students.
- Contributing to the University through service on school and university committees.
- Participating in sufficient continuing learning experiences and/or patient care interactions to remain competent in the field.
- Representing Radiologic and Imaging Sciences Programs by providing accurate and appropriate communication to all constituents of the programs, school and university.
- Participating in program and school level continuing education activities.
- Submitting annual goals related to teaching and service.
Qualifications:
- Current or previous teaching experience in a large, university-based medical imaging program.
- Minimum, baccalaureate degree; Master’s degree preferred (must complete Master’s degree within 2 years of hire).
- Individuals with a bachelor’s degree will be appointed as Acting Lecturer until master’s degree has been completed. Upon master’s degree completion, the appointment will be updated to Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiologic.
- Is qualified to teach sonography curriculum.
- Is proficient in curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising.
- Documents, at a minimum, four years clinical experience in the professional discipline.
- Documents a minimum of two years of experience as an instructor in a diagnostic medical sonography program, preferred.
- Holds American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) current registration in abdomen, preferred; additional sonography registries encouraged (i.e. OB, Vascular Technology, Echocardiography, Breast Sonography, Peds Sonography); OR Holds ARRT current registration in a post-primary sonography modality.

This is a clinical track position. The candidate will join a group of 17 Adult Interventional Radiologists and 3 Pediatric Interventional Radiologist in the Interventional Radiology Division. Riley Hospital for Children is a large nationally recognized children’s hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center. In addition to subspecialty Pediatrics across multiple areas, Riley has a well-established vascular anomalies team with which this position would be involved. Additionally, the hospital system has consolidated maternity services at Riley, offering comprehensive maternal-fetal care as well. Assistant/Associate Professor, Emergency, Second Shift Remote
The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at Indiana University School of Medicine in partnership with Indiana University Health Medical Group is seeking an Emergency Radiologist to join our team. Our Indianapolis-based practice of 30+ Emergency Radiologists is expanding teleradiology services throughout the state and we are looking for candidates interested in a hybrid academic/community practice work environment. The job entails working second shift, 134 shifts/year model and offers a wide range of cases from both academic medical centers and community hospitals. Work with a collegial team of ER radiologists and excellent clinical administrative assistants who allow you to focus on patient care rather than answering and making phone calls.
Shifts are nine hours (5 p.m.-2 a.m. EST), fully remote and performed from home on a workstation provided by the department. You will always be working alongside multiple other ER radiologists, including a dedicated ER neuroradiologist, with whom you can share challenging cases. Our workflow is enhanced by customized worklists, availability of ER-centric dictation templates and AI programs such as RadAI which autogenerates impressions. Both clinical and academic track positions are available. Salary and benefits are very competitive. In addition to clinical work, this position involves teaching trainees.
